Las Vegas Headliners Showbiz Party - July 23rd 2010

The first secret headliner-only dinner was last night at Capos and we all had a great time. Contrary to what you might think, most headliners and performers here in Las Vegas don’t know each other and it was a chance for people to meet, connect, reconnect as well as disconnect with a glass of something and good meal.

Marc Savard (Hypnotist at Planet Hollywood’s V theatre) Gerry McCambridge (The Mentalist V theatre) Andy Walmsey, and I hosted a dinner at the famed Capos Italian restaurant on West Sahara.  A HUGE thank you to Nico for closing his fun restaurant down for us to have this intimate dinner.
Even though the evening didn’t start until 11:00 PM, that didn’t stop us all from eating outrageously good appetizers, pastas and grazing at the bar.

Anthony Cools arrived with his fearless and gorgeous stage assistant Ashley. She is a wonderful foil for him onstage. I am loving his new look and if you have not yet seen his show, he rocks it at the Paris, so get on down there and see The Anthony Cools Experience.  Nathan Burton also came to dinner party with us, he is always adorable and has a fantastic afternoon magic show at the Flamingo. If you want to take the kids to his show it’s great entertainment for you and them, and I loved it because it has something for everyone. Frank Marino is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, and no wonder everyone in the industry loves him so.  However, it’s a drag (no pun intended) when a man has better hair, and better evening clothes than I do.  At one point during dinner, he got something caught in his throat and Marc Savard was performing the Heimlich maneuver on him which I have to say was photo worthy, so we took one and it’s on our site.  No one is safe! I’m happy to report that Frank survived and he and all of his Divas will continue to be onstage at the Imperial entertaining the hell out of us.  Joan Rivers should look so good.  Run, don’t walk to see his fantastic show.

The incredibly talented Terry Fator came with his girlfriend and he was delightful.  (He ought to put a safety on that girl, she’s so gorgeous) We talked about his win on America’s Got Talent and how life changing it was for him. I love that Terry is living the American Dream, it’s an inspiration for all performers  everywhere who have yet to get their break.
Vinnie Favorito was also in attendance and since this is one of the few shows I have not yet seen, I’ll be heading over there to check him out. What a great guy he is and wow did he fit in with the severely Italian evening.  Chris Phillips, half of the Zowie Bowie Duo is positively adorable. He is an electrifying performer, such a gifted singer.  He and Marley Taylor are Zowie Bowie, and they are so fabulous over at The Pub in the Monte Carlo, there is nothing quite like them in all of Vegas so check them out.  He is such a ball of incredible energy on stage and off (and he gives great hugs) we always love having him with us at any party we throw.

Two of those incredible Jersey Boys, Jeff Leibow and Travis Cloer came on over after their show and they had a great time.  They were saying how honored they were to perform at this years daytime Emmys for Dick Clark’s tribute and lifetime achievement Emmy and how touching it was to see him moved to tears. They were honored to be on the stage with Donny and Marie as well as the other Vegas acts that night.  Jersey Boys of course, is the wildly popular Musical based on Frankie Vallie and The Four Seasons, and these boys are causing standing ovations nightly nightly with their talent.

The very handsome and uber-gifted Gordie Brown also popped in after his show to party with us.  He is at the golden Nugget and has a rock-solid impression show with great music and comedy.

JD Nicholas from the Commodores also popped to have some fun with us. What a talented, gracious and fun man he is.

Marc Savard was a perfect host, making sure everyone was having fun and taken care of. He is the best at introducing people to each other. He was the first new friend  I made when I came here and I just adore him. Marc’s show at Planet Hollywood’s V Theatre is an E- ticket ride with the human mind known as Hypnosis, don’t miss it!  Gerry McCambridge reads minds nightly also at the V theatre, and if you’ve never seen a mentalist,  Do yourself a favor and see Gerry, half the fun is trying to figure out how he does it and you never will ;-)
